Summary
Redwire's Oakman business unit located in Littleton, CO is creating a Contractor - EGSE Test Engineer position for up to 6 months who will support Engineering and Program Management with the execution of development and flight test activities.
In this role, you’ll be hands-on with preparing, executing, and reporting on tests across projects. You’ll be working with engineering to build and execute engineering experiments, manufacturing test procedures, and assist with building mechanical and electrical ground support equipment.
Responsibilities
- Identify testing methods, support test plan documentation, and design test fixtures for risk mitigation, requirements verification and/or validation, and prototype development and demonstration needs
- Support hands-on test operations, up to and including fabrication and assembly of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and testing of development and flight hardware
- Document and record specialized test set-up configurations to replicate consistent and repeatable test results
- Setup and conduct material tests to characterize material properties or specific material behaviors
Ideal Experience
- B.S. degree or higher degrees in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, physics, mathematics, or other STEM discipline may substitute for 2 years of experience.
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical fabrication.
- 2+ years of experience supporting test activities.
- Experience using various hand and power tools, such as drill, calipers, etc.
- Experience using various test equipment, such as DMM, oscilloscope, etc.
- Strong oral, written communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment.
Desired Skills
- Experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- Knowledge/experience working with electrical components and systems
- Knowledge/experience with soldering
- Comfortable with using MS Office
- Experience with mechanical or electrical CAD

How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy)
Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
