Summary
Our Redwire Space Components group has a current opportunity for a Contractor - Hardware Test Engineer, IlI for a period of up to 6 months, located at our facility in Littleton, CO. In this role you will design the test plans, procedures, and scripts required to validate deliverable space-grade hardware. You will perform the critical function of ensuring mission success by validating that our hardware will work as intended in the extreme environmental conditions of outer space after a turbulent launch assent. You will have the opportunity to work on projects of all sizes including such high-profile programs as the human-rated Orion program.
Responsibilities
- Work on highly complex projects requiring innovative and original solutions
- Devise testing plans, methods, and equipment to assure reliability of product in conjunction with requirements
- Provide test area and facility with parameters for testing and specify tests to be performed
- Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, or new testing requirements
- Responsible for testing all customer hardware and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area
- Consult with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications
- Performs analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products
- Develop testing procedures, including scripted testing automation
- Implement the testing processes and ensure all test activities follow those processes
- Produce reports on each test activity and track test metrics
- Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative
- Effectively train/mentor the work group and lead teams within the group
- Resolve divergent technical opinions within team and customers
- Independently determine and develops approach to solutions
- Must be able to travel to test facilities up to 15%. Out of state travel may be required
- Ability to support testing outside of business hours including overnight and weekends on occasion
Ideal Experience
- Bachelor's degree (Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science) or related field. With 5 or more years of aerospace/space Test Engineering experience. Willing to consider equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience writing test plans, procedures, and reports and or data packages
- Experience with environmental testing (TVAC, Vibration, and Shock)
- Scripting and automation skills (Python)
- Experience with Linux (OS)
- PCA troubleshooting
- Ability to travel on occasional if needed
- US Citizenship required
Desired Skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Capable of communicating effectively with customers.
- Experience with and understanding of AS9100 industry standard practices
- Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, and theories
- Strong ability to debug and deduce digital design issues with use of lab tools such as bench supplies, scopes, and logic analyzers with little support from more senior engineers
- Possesses leadership skills and a resiliently positive attitude
- Basic MS Word & MS Excel competency
- Knowledge of basic electrical design and theory

Salary range: $49 -$65/hr.

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
