Front-End Developer and Administrator (ALL levels) (Front End Developer, Sr. Lead)

Redwire Space, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and creative Front-End Developer and Administrator to design, develop, and manage modern digital interfaces for websites and mission-critical applications. This individual will take ownership of both public web presence and assist with internal web design and development of web-based applications and interfaces. The ideal candidate is a seasoned webmaster or web developer with a strong UI/UX sensibility, a passion for accessibility and performance, and proven experience working with cross-functional teams in rapidly evolving environments. You will work closely with product owners, designers, researchers, and developers to translate complex requirements into beautiful, usable, and scalable front-end web and enterprise experiences.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, manage and maintain the company’s public websites.
  • Translate design mockups and wireframes into functional, accessible website templates and features using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, primarily for the WordPress CMS.
  • Design and develop application user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks like React, Angular, and Alpine.js.
  • Collaborate with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Conduct usability testing, task analysis, and accessibility audits to improve user interaction flows.
  • Develop and debug websites and web applications using testing frameworks such as Jest and Enzyme.
  • Participate in code reviews, refactor legacy codebases, and champion front-end best practices.
  • Ensure website meets content and technical compliance standards; Lead corrective efforts as needed.
  • Assist with the design, maintenance, and management of the company’s SharePoint-based intranet.
  • Package and deliver UI data as JSON-based HTTP APIs as needed.
 
Ideal Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), digital media design, or a related field (or equivalent) or 8-10 years of total experience in UI/UX front end development, or a master’s degree with 6-8 years of experience. Will consider High School with 14+ years of desired experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design and development of responsive, accessible web applications.
  • Experience working in enterprise or mission-driven environments
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional team collaboration, including mentorship and stakeholder engagement.
  • WordPress and/or other CMS framework development experience
  • Expert HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP knowledge and skills
  • Expert Responsive Design
  • Experience with SQL Server data integration through secure PHP connectors
  • Expert JSON API development and integration
  • Advanced knowledge of design tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Adobe XD, and Canva
 
Desired Skills:
 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on anticipating, identifying, mitigating, and resolving user interface issues.
  • Strong collaboration skills, particularly in working with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and accountability.
  • Expert React, Angular, Node.js knowledge and skills
  • Expert Git, Docker, Kubernetes knowledge and skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with secure systems, mission planning tools, or cyber operations.
  • Familiarity with certificate-based data access control.
  • Background in contributing to open source, hackathons, or technical speaking engagements.
  • Passion for personal and team development initiatives, mentoring, and leadership.
  • Interest in emerging tech like AI, 3D/VR, and Three.js
