Join the Redwire team in developing and fielding end-to-end innovative mission critical space system solutions for next generation space architecture. At Redwire, you will work closely with customers from concept development through mission operations to ensure mission success.
Function
The space business within Redwire is involved in a wide variety of exciting projects and programmes, from developing and building satellites to complex space instruments and mechanisms.
Our projects are highly innovative, technically challenging and diverse. We have projects in all phases of the product lifecycle. It ranges from study phases, design and testing of qualification models up to full integration and testing of flight hardware and support to launch campaigns.
As a project manager, you will be the overall responsible to deliver the projects assigned to you, in line with the project objectives and the contractual obligations. You will need to follow up on progress, steer your team and subcontractors to keep on track with all project requirements (technical, schedule, cost). As the project manager, you are the first contact point for the project, both internally and with towards the customer. You will report to the Portfolio Lead.
Your key responsibilities will be:
• Delivery of the space projects to the agreed baseline including customer satisfaction, time, cost, and quality.
• Create, monitor, and keep track of the project plan, schedule, risk register, and financial status to ensure the project is delivered on time, to budget, and to the required quality.
• Lead and align with the cross-functional technical team and subcontractors to meet contractual obligations and ensure efficient project execution.
• Communicate and report, in both written form and in oral presentation, on the project progress to customer and internal at Redwire. Seek for solutions in case of deviations from the baseline, issues or conflicts.
• Manage the risks in your project by proper identification, quantification, and definition of mitigation actions for the risks on your project.
• Follow-up of subcontractors to guarantee timely delivery of units, analysis, or test results and related data packs; all within the agreed cost and quality.
• Develop and maintain a positive engagement with customers, partners, and suppliers.
• With the support of the relevant resource managers, ensure your project is appropriately resourced. Support the people managers with development of team members.
Profile
Desired skills/experience/knowledge:
• Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in an engineering or scientific discipline, with 5+ years of relevant experience in project management.
• Knowledge and experience in project management processes and methodologies.
• Experience of budget and resource management in a project management context.
• Ability to effectively influence, communicate, and negotiate with all levels of management and project stakeholders. Empower and inspire people to achieve success.
• Effective communication skills.
• Problem solver.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as in a team, and to deliver high quality outputs in a timely manner.
• Fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch is a plus
