Summary
We have a current opportunity for a Sr Procurement Specialist/Buyer located at our facility in Longmont, CO. This role will need expertise in procurement, expediting, and/or logistics. You will be responsible for quoting, negotiating prices, daily procurement of materials, equipment, and services as required for projects as applicable. You will manage vendor and supplier relationships and ensure that required material is purchased within budget and at the best price to support project schedules and inventory targets. Utilize new and/or existing suppliers in support of the company’s operations, and manage quality, cost, and on-time delivery of goods and services of assigned supply base. The ideal candidate brings a thorough working knowledge of planning and procurement in the aerospace industry with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Program Management and Engineering teams to forecast resources demands and plan appropriate procurement measures to procure material as requested, making applicable independent commercial decisions within established authority limits.
- Utilize available computer inquiry functions such as Oracle NetSuite and IFS, and other professional services, to meet deadlines, reduce cost, and to ensure our requirements and specifications are flowed down to supplier.
- Update and maintain Approved Supplier List and direct vendor reduction efforts to focus on purchasing efficiency.
- Places purchase orders for submitted purchase requisitions. Review purchase requisitions for accuracy, pricing, and delivery ensuring the requested supplier is on the approved supplier list and the appropriate approvals have been obtained.
- Track and manage deliveries, including deferment of supplies and components and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Manage POs by updating delivery dates, price or other required supplier information, including the executing of cancellations, return or replacement of material, resolving invoice discrepancies and working closely with Finance for supplier payments.
- Manage supplier metrics and trends to improve cost, quality and schedule performance, and prepares reports, plans and updates metrics as required.
- Keep Program teams updated on status of orders and all other circumstances which may affect delivery, quality or price of material ordered.
- Resolve vendor invoicing and shipment discrepancies through research inquiry functions and negotiate acceptable commercial resolutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration or related field is highly desirable. Will consider 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of formal degree
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in procurement, expediting, and/or logistics function in aerospace or hi-tech manufacturing industry.
- Working knowledge and experience with AS9100 business requirements and methods of control within an aerospace production environment.
- Strong negotiation skills, purchasing practices and ethics and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using MS applications, e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR regulations.
Desired Skills
- Experience with Oracle / NetSuite and/or IFS is highly desirable
- Experience within an AS9100 production environment
- Experience with government contracts and how they relate to the procurement process

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.
