Summary
Redwire Space - Longmont, CO is the leading developer and provider of satellite mechanisms, deployable structures, and RF antennas to the global space market. The company's key products include fixed and deployable antenna systems, deployable structural and mechanical systems and supporting subsystems.
We have a current opportunity for a Staff Manufacturing Engineer, located at our facility in Longmont, CO. In this role you will be responsible for planning and documenting the manufacturing scope for programs, leading the development of manufacturing processes and associated work instructions, GSE development, and providing DFM feedback for system design.
Responsibilities
- Design optimized manufacturing processes and maintain associated documentation for training, internal protocol, and industry standard alignment
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods to drive: high quality, cost reduction, and first pass yield improvement
- Plan, monitor, and optimize: production layout, resource utilization, & production capacity
- Develop and mentor sound engineering practices within the team
- Represent manufacturing team in critical program reviews
- Generate technical reporting, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- GSE design, review, and timely release
- Write activity and project reports, develop action plans, generate work instructions, test procedures and other documentation to support production operations.
- Drive non-conformance issues to root cause and timely closure
- Lead manufacturing planning updates for the organization
- Model exemplary professional conduct as a representative of Redwire
- Ability to travel domestically up to 5% of the time
- Other duties as assigned
Ideal Experience
- B.S. degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering of electronics, RF antennas, and/or space-flight hardware
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement philosophy
- Proficient in one or more of the following CAD Software: Inventor, SolidWorks, Catia, Draftsight, AutoCAD
- Familiarity with design, manufacturing, and testing of RF Antenna Systems
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience working with RF communications in an aerospace field.
- Proficiency with Visio and MS Project.
- Eagerness to work in a rapidly growing, low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ESD protocols and equipment.
- A growth mindset.
Pay Range
$142,135 - $160,000

How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy)
Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.
