Summary
The Business Development (BD) Director of RF Systems reporting directly to the Director of RF Systems for Redwire Space Solutions Business Unit (BU) and is responsible for driving business growth in our Antennas, RF Systems and active RF payloads product offering. The BD Associate Director provides strategic guidance to proposed product offerings, product/technology roadmaps and product marketing based on insights gained from market research, market trends, customer pull and competitive intelligence, as well as participating in direct execution of product development goals with a direct billing target commensurate with the business needs. In this role, the BD Associate Director will collaborate with the BD Directors within the Space Systems BU, the GM of the RF Systems site, program managers of both internally and externally funded programs, and with Redwire Corporate and other BU leaders to win bookings that fulfill overall Redwire revenue, gross margin, and strategic objectives. To achieve these goals, the BD Associate Director will be responsible for managing and tracking leads using Salesforce in close partnership with the Redwire corporate marketing and business development organizations, collaborating on Corporate wide pursuit strategies, presenting bid & proposal presentations to corporate leaders, and developing customer relationships through regular follow-up and industry wide conferences and events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creating product strategies and supporting execution thereof for new products and markets based on market and customer intelligence, to support growth in annual product area orders >$50M
- Be an authority on RF product market needs, size, and opportunities
- Develop and support execution of product roadmaps for key product growth areas, ranging from standalone RF products, to supporting full mission development
- Foster close relationships with RF product customers
- Ensure product pursuits are effectively communicated to all business unit stakeholders including GM, program management, finance, contracts, manufacturing, HR and QA
- Ensure that the quarterly and yearly new orders targets are met
- Create, maintain, and present orders forecast
- Support technical team to create, maintain, and evangelize the product and technology roadmaps
- Create new business leads Orchestrate the bid and proposal process to close new business opportunities Collaborate with BU and corporate BD personnel, marketing, and government relations staff.
- Provide total addressable market (TAM) analysis to drive strategic product decisions.
- Collaborate with RF Chief Architect to align Redwire capabilities and strategic objectives to product development and capture effort.
- Secure a portfolio of customer-funded development contracts
- Participate in site-level strategy formulation to ensure the correct opportunities are being pursed
- Assist in recruitment of key technical talent
- Participate in crafting ideal business and technical processes for the RF Systems site
- Attend conferences and trade shows, possibly participating in panel discussions highlighting Redwire’s contribution to the industry
- Present well-researched guidance to RF systems staff related to market assessments and recommendations for specific pursuits
IDEAL EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related Aerospace field, or a Minimum of 16 years relevant experience
- Demonstrated thought leader through invention (patents), publications, and/or demonstrable experience architecting advanced payloads and missions through flight hardware delivery
- RF Systems experience leading to flight hardware. Ability to quickly and reliably perform top-level engineering analysis for candidate solutions
- Experience managing people through a bid and proposal process
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- US Citizen (Green Card holder or Visa sponsorship are not accepted)
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related Aerospace field
- Successful track record of leading the closing of opportunities >$10M
- Current and active TS/SCI government security clearance, or ability to reinstate a previously held clearance
- Direct experience working in the DoD, National Security, National Security Space, Civil Space, and Commercial Space sectors
- Demonstrated successful performance leading business development, capture, and proposal teams to win large DoD space related opportunities, while developing and enabling pipeline designed for aggressive growth
- High energy, self-motivated with a solid work ethic and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communicator with strong oral, public speaking, writing, and PowerPoint skills Collaborative, positive, team player with a willingness to jump in and support our team members as needed
- Understanding of developmental and production related program management practices, accounting systems and government-funded contracts.
- Willing to cover extensive travel requirements, including international and extended off-sites
