Summary:
Redwire Space is seeking a Director of Program Management Office (PMO) based in our Chantilly, VA office, to lead and standardize program management practices across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operational Performance, this role collaborates with the Director of Programs, General Managers, and other senior leaders to ensure that project initiatives are aligned with strategic business objectives.
The Director of PMO will establish and maintain program management standards, policies, and governance frameworks. They will oversee resource allocation, performance monitoring, and compliance while supporting project managers through training, tools, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Policy Development and Governance:
- Establish and maintain program management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Define governance structures and protocols to promote accountability, transparency, and consistency across all programs and projects.
- Support project teams by providing oversight on adherence to established policies and standards.
- Strategic Planning and Stakeholder Alignment:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define program objectives and priorities.
- Develop and maintain strategic roadmaps that align project initiatives with corporate goals.
- Facilitate alignment between project teams, functional departments, and executives to break down silos and promote unified execution of initiatives.
- Resource Planning Support:
- Serve as a strategic advisor on resource planning, providing guidance on best practices to improve visibility into resource management.
- Research, recommend, and advise on implementation of planning tools and methodologies to enhance project and program oversight.
- Project Oversight and Performance Monitoring:
- Oversee Program Management Reviews (PMRs), milestone reviews, and other evaluations to ensure that project performance aligns with strategic objectives.
- Implement performance monitoring dashboards to track project metrics, identify risks, and provide timely insights to stakeholders.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts by analyzing performance data and driving corrective actions.
- Compliance and SOX Control Management:
- Own and manage SOX controls relevant to program management, including setting standards for Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews, financial validation, and reporting.
- Coordinate quarterly reviews and audits, serving as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors.
- Provide SOX compliance training to program management teams.
- Program Management Standards:
- Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise-level project management standards that enhance project execution, reduce risk, and increase the likelihood of successful outcomes.
- Provide guidance on project scheduling, risk management, and financial planning.
- Tools and Technology Management:
- Manage tools that support project execution, including the Integrated Lifecycle Management (ILM) system (internal PowerBI tool), ProPricer, and Microsoft Project.
- Oversee tool integration with enterprise systems such as the ERP, ensuring alignment with PMO processes.
- Lead the rollout of new tools and features, providing training and support to project teams.
- Training, Development, and Support:
- Build program management culture throughout organization that fosters accountability, excellence, and shared knowledge
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance project managers’ skills in tools, methodologies, and compliance.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of onboarding materials for new project managers.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and primary point of contact for project management support across the organization.
- Knowledge Management:
- Maintain the PMO SharePoint sites, including repositories for policies, templates, and training materials.
- Ensure that resources are easily accessible and updated regularly to support project teams.
- Acquisition and Strategic Initiative Support:
- Provide oversight and integration support for newly acquired entities and projects.
- Apply PMO processes to support the execution and success of high-priority strategic initiatives.
Ideal Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in program management, including experience leading a PMO or equivalent function.
- Extensive experience in project management methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks.
- Previous experience with product costing, pricing strategies, and best practices for developing a basis of estimate (BOE).
- Experience managing SOX controls and compliance activities related to program management.
- Experienced with project management software (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Microsoft Project, ProPricer).
- Experience managing large-scale projects, including ERP integration and acquisition support.
- Prior experience leading and managing large teams or complex projects/programs within an organization.
- Ability to travel regularly ~25%, including international travel.
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
Desired Skills
- PMP or similar project management certification.
- Understanding of understanding of contracts, including but not limited to Firm Fixed Price, Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee and Time and Materials
- Experience leading PMO functions in aerospace, defense, or technology industries. Large government prime experience preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and enterprise project management tools.
- Experience developing and managing training programs for project managers.
