Job Summary:
Redwire Space is seeking an experienced, Remote, Lead Applications Systems Architect (Applications Systems Architect, Lead) to join our team. Ideal candidate must live within a commutable distance to one of our Redwire office locations. In this role, you will be responsible for designing high-level enterprise application systems, establishing core frameworks, and defining key design elements that form the foundation of complex projects. As a key part of our digital solutions team, you will apply your extensive technical expertise to solve challenging problems, working closely with system users, designers, and engineers to ensure that all system requirements are met. You will also play a key role in performing cost-benefit analyses and optimizing the use of commercial and pre-developed components. This position offers the opportunity to exercise significant autonomy in determining objectives and approaches for assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-level architecture for enterprise application systems, ensuring structural integrity and scalability.
- Define core design features and essential framework elements for complex applications and systems within Microsoft 365 and Azure business suite.
- Collaborate with system users to identify and resolve issues, aligning design with business requirements.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate solutions and maximize the use of commercial off-the-shelf software and existing components.
- Develop and coordinate acceptance test requirements with designers, test engineers, and users to validate those high-level requirements, particularly for computer-human interfaces, are met.
- Contribute to business development activities as needed, providing technical expertise to support growth and expansion efforts.
Ideal Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 8 or more years of experience in application systems architecture, or a Master’s degree with 6 or more years of experience. Willing to consider relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience designing and developing internal business applications. For example: Change Management Apps.
- Experience working with users, engineers, and designers to align system designs with requirements and resolve issues.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Azure.
- Experience with Application Programming Interface (API) integration for secure, scalable API maintenance.
- Proficient in PowerShell and shell scripting for automating deployments and system management.
- Experience implementing and using ticketing, project management, and change management software (e.g., TopDesk, Jira).
- Occasional travel will be required for site visits, team meetings and planning sessions.
Desired Skills:
- Direct Space Industry experience preferred.
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 services (SharePoint, Teams, Dynamics 365) for Power Platform integration.
- Proficiency in developing technical solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to create and consume RESTful APIs and integrate them with Power Platform solutions.
- Understanding of Active Directory (AD) for managing user roles and access controls.
- Experience with basic front-end web languages, including JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
- Knowledge of Power Apps, including both Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps.
- Knowledge of Power Automate for creating automated workflows and integrating various services and APIs.
- Knowledge of Power BI for designing data visualizations and dashboards.
- Experience with Salesforce administration is a definite plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

- Ability to work independently and apply considerable latitude in determining objectives and strategies for assignments.
