Summary
 
Redwire Space Missions has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Systems Engineering, Requirements, Verification, and Validation (RV&V), in our Littleton facility.  In this role, you will lead and grow the functional organization responsible for defining, verifying, and validating spacecraft system performance and functionality across the full lifecycle—from concept through flight operations. This role combines organizational leadership with direct program technical contribution, ensuring disciplined systems engineering execution throughout the System “V” lifecycle.
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Systems Engineering RV&V functional organization, responsible for requirements management, verification and validation strategy, planning and execution across Space Missions programs.
  • Establish and maintain functional processes, tools, and standards for requirements development, traceability, verification, validation, and configuration control.
  • Lead hiring efforts, performance management, and mentorship for Systems Engineering RV&V staff.
  • Support the implementation of Systems Engineering process and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the long-term strategy and implementation of digital engineering practices and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methods.
  • Provide direct technical leadership to programs ensuring traceable, testable, and validated requirements.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering, Avionics, Integration & Test, and other functional teams to ensure requirements traceability and verification alignment from unit-level through system-level qualification and acceptance.
  • Support formal reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and Mission Readiness Reviews with clear verification status and technical rationale.
  • Participate in proposal development, customer engagements, and planning activities, representing Systems Engineering.
 
Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM field.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting spacecraft system development programs.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience serving in an engineering leadership role.
  • Experience supporting program(s) in a lead technical role across multiple lifecycle phases (e.g., CONOPS, detailed design, integration & test, verification, validation, operations, etc.).
  • Experience leading and mentoring other engineers.
  • Experience
  • Eligible for a U.S. security clearance.
 
Desired Skills
  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a functional manager.
  • Experience with career growth and succession management for functional staff.
  • Experience as a Responsible Engineer, IPT Lead, and/or Control Account Manager (CAM) for spacecraft programs.
  • Experience with requirements and verification management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with digital engineering and MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, Rhapsody).
  • Familiarity with agile task execution tools, such as Jira or Confluence.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware integration, environmental test, and system-level verification execution.
  • Experience supporting government and/or commercial spacecraft programs (NASA, Space Force).
  • Active DoD security clearance.
  • Ability to travel - an average of 15% travel may be required.

Pay Range
$130,000-200,000/yr

How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy)
Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth.  Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
