Redwire Space Solutions is looking for a Structural Engineer to participate in developing breakthrough RF antenna technologies for space and terrestrial spin-offs. The Structural Engineer is responsible for developing models, conducting analysis research, and developing structural engineering solutions and substantiations involving metals, non-metallic or composite materials for space applications. This position involves Mechanical Systems Structural Analysis related to new product development.
Our successful candidate will interface with Mechanical Design, Systems, and Test Engineers, provide structural support for laboratory testing and flight operations, as well as continued support of existing hardware.
Specific Structural Engineering Specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability, thermal analysis, and static and fatigue stress analysis, including life calculations, as well as required structural analysis report documentation.
Tools included are ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, Solidworks, Matlab, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel as well as a variety of specialized software applications.
Responsibilities
- Finite Element Model creation, analysis, validation and test correlation in support of spacecraft flight hardware
- Collaboration across multiple disciplines (Mechanical, Systems, and Test Engineers)
- Execution of simulation workflows in accordance with customer and industry standards
- Generation and delivery of reports to managers and senior-level staff
Ideal Experience
- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or Related field
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience (or 0+ years’ experience with a Masters’ Degree) analyzing, researching, and developing structural engineering solutions for complex mechanical systems for space applications.
- Demonstrated software knowledge of ANSYS, Abaqus, or NASTRAN.
- Demonstrated understanding of structural dynamics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Support work-related travel up to 10% (mostly local)
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of FEA software and theory
- Technical knowledge of launch and operational environments and structural design in high vibration environments.
- Demonstrated ability with ANSYS or Abaqus
- Contextual familiarity with design for challenging thermal environments

Pay Range
$82,000 - $110,000/yr

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
